The State of Cloud Standards

As cloud computing adoption rates soar, standards groups see promise with establishing aligned interfaces, rules written into RFPs and SLAs, and harmonized government legislation. Those were prime expectations for the near-term of cloud computing from discussion topics during an update on cloud standards held Thursday between U.S. and European standards organizations.

The SNIA & OGF Cloud Plugfest 2012 will offer a highly collaborative, vendor-neutral, environment for developers and vendors to perform interoperability testing of CDMI and OCCI implementations. The previous Cloud Plugfest, held in September 2011 in Santa Clara, California and remotely in Dusseldorf, Germany, attracted over 20 developers from nine companies.
