Alex McDonald (NetApp), co-chair of the SNIA NFS Special Interest Group, will discuss the latest advances in the NFS standards including NFSv4.1 and pNFS. He will provide some forward direction to the proposed features of NFSv4.2 and offer insights to why customers should consider transitioning to NFSv4.1 today.
Presenter Bio: Alex joined NetApp in 2005, after more than 30 years in a variety of roles in the software industry. With a background in software development, support, sales, and a period as an independent consultant, Alex is now part of NetApp’s Office of the CTO. In this role he supports industry activities and promotes technology and standards based solutions. He is chair of the SNIA Cloud Standards Initiative Education subcommittee, and co–chair of the SNIA NFS Special Interest Group.
