Alliances: Building Strong Connections

The Strategic Alliance Committee Europe (SAC Europe) develops collaborative relationships with industry associations, end user groups, government bodies and other organizations that have a common interest in topics related to storage networking and information management.

SAC Europe’s relationships have significant benefits to the industry as whole, including, but certainly not limited to:

  • Raising IT industry awareness about trends, objectives, and progress in storage networking

  • Advancing the adoption of data storage solutions across all business and technology boundaries

  • Enabling different industry organizations to pool their spheres of expertise

  • Reducing risk and preserving operating capital by avoiding duplicate or orthogonal work

  • Developing joint programs related to technology, cooperative marketing arrangements, or other specific points of cooperation

The goal of SAC Europe is to continue to build our network of trusted partners. To achieve this goal, we encourage our industry colleagues to contact us at saceurope@snia.org to learn more about collaborative opportunities within the SNIA Alliances program. Together, we can strengthen not only our Alliance portfolio, but our industry as well.

European Union Code of Conduct for Data Centres.

SNIA Europe is now recognized as an Endorser of the European Union Code of Conduct for Data Centres.

SNIA Europe and European Union Code of Conduct for Data Centres.

SNIA and SNIA Europe will promote the European Union Code of Conduct for Data Centres best practices to our members and the industry overall. Our mission is to educate the market on the evolution and application of storage infrastructure solutions for the data centre and to deliver a high-level knowledge exchange of open and effective storage technologies; being an Endorser of this Code of Conduct will give our energy efficient education and positioning increased credibility within the industry.

Fibre Channel Industry Association

The Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA) is a mutual benefit non-profit international organization of manufacturers, system integrators, developers, vendors, industry professionals and end users. The FCIA is committed to delivering a broad base of Fibre Channel infrastructure technology to support a wide array of applications within the mass storage and IT-based arenas. FCIA working groups and committees focus on specific aspects of the technology, targeting both vertical and horizontal markets including data storage, video, networking and storage area networking (SAN) management.

SNIA Europe and FCIA

SNIA Europe recognizes that FCIA represents expertise in the area of Fibre Channel as used in storage networking as well as being a key industry association involved in the development of marketing requirements for coordinating with the T11 standards organization.

This collaboration will enable the FCIA to be represented within EMEA and for SNIA Europe to be enabled to present the fibre channel status, plans, roadmaps, and marketing material to the mutual benefit of both organizations.

SCSI Trade Association

The SCSI Trade Association (STA) was established to provide a focal point for members to communicate the benefits of SCSI to the industry. STA promotes the understanding and use of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) technology and influences the evolution of SAS standards to meet future storage industry needs.

SNIA Europe and STA

SNIA Europe and the SCSI Trade association have an alliance agreement in place to enable the STA to be represented within EMEA and for SNIA Europe to present the SCSI status, plans, roadmaps, and marketing material to the mutual benefit of both organizations.

Guide Share Europe

GSE is a non-profit association of companies, organizations and individuals who are involved in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions. GSE aims to encourage members to exchange experience and information related to ICT, influence ICT product and service providers, and influence the European standards in Information and Communication Technology in the interest of its members.

SNIA Europe and GSE

This alliance enables collaboration between SNIA Europe members and GSE members to receive direct information relative to advances in Storage Networking standards, technologies, experiences, and tutorials on the different aspects of networked storage. These topic areas include: Fibre Channel, Ethernet Storage, Data Management, Green Storage, Solid State Storage, Storage Security, Cloud Storage and Storage Management.
